Ali Com, also known as Ali K-om, is a veteran Tanzanian vocalist who played a distinct role during the early Bongo Flava era. Hailing from the lively Temeke district in Dar es Salaam, he became a key member of the Sewer Side (sometimes credited as Sewa Side) collective, a cornerstone of the "Monstah" movement produced at the renowned Bongo Records studio under P-Funk Majani.
He is best known for his performance on the 2004 classic "Usiku Huu" from Daz Baba’s influential album "Elimu Dunia." Performing alongside Mr. Blue and Sajo, Ali Com’s melodic presence offered a striking contrast to the era’s hard-edged rap verses. While his career was more understated compared to solo stars, his contributions remain an important part of the Golden Era catalog, establishing him as a figure who helped connect street-level hip-hop with the smoother currents of urban R&B.
