Bio
Gino Sitson’s voice is as unique as his roots. Born in Cameroon and raised in a musical family from the Bamileke region, he carries the weight of tradition while embracing modern sounds. With a four-octave range, Sitson seamlessly fuses jazz, gospel, blues, and African polyphonies, creating something entirely his own. He holds a PhD in Musicology from Paris-Sorbonne University, focusing on music cognition and African diasporic traditions. As the founder of the Polyvocal Research Laboratory, Sitson also teaches vocal improvisation. His albums, including 'Vocal Deliria' and 'Bamisphere,' push boundaries between jazz, chamber music, and oral traditions. A UNICEF Ambassador to Cameroon, Sitson continues to innovate, using his music to bridge cultures worldwide.
