Bio
Cordracious Jacqueli Carpede, better known as Jacqui Carpede is a celebrated South African pop singer, songwriter, and actress who achieved national super-stardom as a core member of the iconic all-female R&B trio Jamali. Born in Eldorado Park, Johannesburg, Carpede’s musical gift was discovered during her childhood, leading to early formal training in dance and vocal performance. Her definitive breakthrough arrived in 2004 on the reality television series Coca-Cola Popstars, where she formed Jamali alongside Mariechan Luiters and Liesl Penniken. As a primary vocalist, Carpede spearheaded a phenomenal fifteen-year run, releasing platinum-selling albums like “Yours Fatally,” and securing a South African Music Award for 3rd Base. Following the group's conclusion in 2019, she seamlessly transitioned into a successful solo music career with her dance-pop album Ready To Love. Concurrently, Carpede established a respected acting portfolio, performing across prominent national theater stages and appearing in popular television productions.
