RZA, born Robert Fitzgerald Diggs in Brooklyn, New York, is an American rapper, producer, composer, actor, filmmaker, and Wu-Tang Clan architect. He began recording as Prince Rakeem, releasing "Ooh I Love You Rakeem" in 1991 before helping form Wu-Tang Clan with GZA, Ol’ Dirty Bastard, and Staten Island rappers. RZA shaped its 1993 debut, "Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers)," using rugged drums, soul samples, and martial-arts film influences.
He produced albums for Method Man, Raekwon, Ghostface Killah, and GZA. RZA pursued solo work as Bobby Digital, beginning with "RZA as Bobby Digital in Stereo" in 1998, while contributing to Gravediggaz as RZArector. He expanded into film through scores, acting, and directing, including "The Man with the Iron Fists."
In 2024, he released "A Ballet Through Mud," an orchestral work created with the Colorado Symphony from teenage writings rediscovered during the pandemic. His career spans hip-hop, cinema, and classical composition.
