Bio
Fred Giriya, known as Rocky Giant, is a Ugandan rapper born in 1984 in Maracha District. Orphaned at age six, he rose to fame in the early 2000s with hits like “Rafiki” and “Paka Last,” pioneering Lugaflow rap. His debut album "Rafiki" earned widespread acclaim, and he won Best Hip-Hop Artist at the 2005 PAM Awards. Despite later struggles with health and career setbacks, including a viral assault incident, he remains a respected figure in Ugandan music. Rocky’s work layers hip-hop, ragga, and local dialects. As of 2025, he continues to fight personal battles with community support and artistic resilience.
