Bio
Sonto Vivian Dhladhla is a South African singer, dancer, and founding member of the Afro-pop group Platform One, one of the country’s well-known female musical ensembles that emerged in the early 1990s in Soweto. She rose to prominence as part of the original lineup formed in 1992 alongside fellow members Nani Ntengo and Neli Gwala. The group first gained attention through street performances and traditional dance displays at Pimville Square, which eventually led to recording opportunities and a long-standing career in South African Afro-pop music. Within the group, Sonto Dladla is widely recognized as a core vocalist and performer. She contributes backing vocals and harmonies, while also playing a strong role in choreography and stage performance. Beyond performance, she is also involved in songwriting and has contributed to the group’s creative direction over the years.
