Some voices make you stop mid-breath; Waje’s is one of them. Born Aituaje Aina Vivian Ebele Iruobe on September 1, 1980, in Akure, Ondo State, she grew up in Benin City, Edo State, performing in church choirs that hinted at her future as a powerhouse vocalist.
She earned a degree in social work from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN), navigating early challenges, including single motherhood, while refining her craft. Waje gained national recognition in 2008, featuring on P-Square’s “Do Me.” Collaborations with The Guy (fka M.I Abaga) and Banky W on tracks like “One Naira” and “Thief My Kele” further cemented her place.
Her debut album, "Words Aren’t Just Enough (W.A.J.E)" (2013), and later projects: "Red Velvet" (2018), "Heart Season" (2021), "Waje 2.0" (2022) showcase versatility and growth. Beyond music, she has acted in Tunnel (2014) and She Is (2018), coached on The Voice Nigeria, and runs Waje Safe House.
