Yanga Sobetwa (full name Yanga Khoza, née Sobetwa) is a South African singer and songwriter who first became widely known after winning Idols South Africa Season 14 in 2018 at age 17. Born on 25 April 2001 in Delft, Cape Town, she impressed audiences with her strong voice and emotional performances. Following her win, she released her debut album "Promised Land" (2019), which topped iTunes charts in South Africa and featured collaborations with Amanda Black and the Soweto Gospel Choir. Her music combines pop, R&B, and gospel influences, reflecting her strong faith and personal journey. Yanga has openly discussed her experiences with depression and anxiety, using her story to inspire others. Beyond music, she launched Betwa Beauty, a company focused on empowering women. In 2025, she married fellow musician Ntsako Khoza. Yanga continues to record and perform gospel-inspired music, establishing herself as one of South Africa’s most promising young voices.
