BioCubanito 20.02, often called Cubanito, is a pioneering Cuban urban music group from Havana, celebrated as a founder of Cubaton, blending reggaeton, dancehall, and traditional Cuban son. The group was formed by Javier Durán Webb (El Doctor), José Ángel Sastre Pérez (El White), and Haniel González Martínez (DJ Flipper), who began their careers in the underground rap collective Primera Base. In the early 2000s, they reinvented their sound with a melodic, danceable style, launching Cubanito 20.02. Their debut album, “Soy Cubanito,” which produced the hit single “Mátame” and won the Cubadisco Award for Best Rap Album, a historic recognition for reggaeton-influenced music in Cuba. Signing with Lusafrica, they toured Europe and released “Tócame,” (2006), “La Fórmula,” and “Los Jíbaros,” (2008), “My World,” (2012), and “La Sata,”(2015), solidifying their legacy in Cuban urban music.
