BioThe Culture Musical Club, founded in 1958, is one of Zanzibar’s most renowned and prolific taarab orchestras. Based in Zanzibar town, the group regularly performs at local concerts and has made significant international strides, with frequent tours across Europe since 1996. They have also performed in the US, Dominican Republic, Japan, and Reunion. The club has released six foreign CDs and hundreds of local songs since 1988. Known for bringing their music to rural areas, they often travel with a fold-up stage and generator, making them a key cultural ambassador for Zanzibar's rich musical heritage.
