BioNagligte is a South African alternative rock band formed by Jacobus “Roof” Brink, Wynand Jonker, and Daniël “Eddie” Brink. The group originated in 2000 after Roof and Wynand met at university, though the project only gained momentum years later when the members reunited to pursue music in 2014. Their sound combines Afrikaans rock, alternative music, and emotionally-driven songwriting focused on themes of personal struggle, hope, and breaking free from routine.
The band gained national attention in 2015 with their debut single “Dit Stop Nou,” which received significant radio airplay and led to a recording deal with Universal Music South Africa. Their debut album "Hoop in die Donker" further established them in the Afrikaans rock scene with songs such as “Vir Nou,” “Bly,” “Konsentreer,” and “Een Saam.”
Nagligte received nominations for Ghoema Awards and won Bokkie Awards for Newcomer of the Year and Group of the Year in 2016.
