BioThe Bang is a talented South African all-men indie pop band formed in 2001. Though the band's members include Joshua Gregg, Gad de Combes, Stefan Lawrence, and Barry Sherman, its initial lineup were lead vocalist and guitarist Joshua Gregg and bassist Barry Sherman. The band underwent various lineup changes, including drummer Danny Girnun, who played on the band's EP "Of Engines And Earthworms" under the name 3Speed in November 2001. In 2003, the band was signed to Chameleon Records South Africa, a label owned by local producer Adrian Levi. The Bang's debut full-length album, "Shiny," was recorded over two years and released in September 2005. In April 2010, Joshua Gregg and Brad Kallenbach left The Bang to form Cold War Candy Drop, a band with a faster and more upbeat sound.
