Linda Mkhize, better known as PRO (formerly Pro Kid), gained widespread recognition after his breakthrough on YFM, an urban youth radio station in South Africa. Celebrated for blending Soweto vernacular with English in his lyrics, he pioneered kasi rap, a South African hip-hop subgenre. His debut single, "Soweto," paid tribute to his roots and launched his career. PRO significantly influenced the genre, bringing attention to township life while inspiring future generations of artists. His first album, "Heads and Tales," released in 2005, cemented his place in the music scene. Tragically, Mkhize passed away in August 2018 following a seizure.
