Augustine Miles Kelechi Okechukwu, known as Tekno, is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, and producer whose career grew alongside the international rise of Afrobeats.
Born in Bauchi and raised in a military family, he spent his childhood moving between different parts of Nigeria and learned to play the piano and guitar from an early age.
After beginning his music career in Abuja, he signed with Made Men Music Group in 2013, where his profile steadily grew. “Duro” became an important breakthrough in 2015, followed by the international success of “Pana”, which established him as one of Nigeria’s prominent pop acts.
His recognition included Best New Act at the 2016 MTV Africa Music Awards and a BET Awards nomination the following year. Beyond performing, Tekno is an influential songwriter and producer, contributing to records by other African artists. His later career included the widely successful “Buga” with Kizz Daniel.
