Bio
King Monada, born Khutso Steven Kgatla, is a South African singer, songwriter, and producer from Mokgolobotho village in Limpopo. Growing up in a musically inclined family, he was inspired by relatives who played instruments and developed a passion that led him to leave school early and focus on music. He began performing at local events in Tzaneen before gaining national recognition in 2016 with the breakout single “Ska Bhora Moreki.” Two years later, his hit “Malwedhe (Kea Idibala)” became a viral sensation, cementing his status as one of Limpopo’s most influential artists. Renowned for singing in Khelobedu, a dialect of Northern Sotho, Monada blends Afro-pop, house, and “Bolobedu house” to create a sound that resonates both locally and nationally. His awards include FAME SA and Limpopo Music Awards, alongside recognition at the 2020 DStv Mzansi Viewers’ Choice Awards. He also mentors young talent through his community recording studio.
