Rayvanny, born Raymond Shaban Mwakyusa, is a Tanzanian singer, songwriter, and entrepreneur recognized for advancing Bongo Flava internationally. He began his career after winning a national freestyle competition in 2011, in 2012 he also joined Tip Top Connection in and signed with WCB Wasafi in 2015.
His debut single, "Kwetu," released in 2016, established him across East Africa, followed by successful releases including "Tetema," "Salome," "Mama Tetema," and "Forever." His discography includes the EPs "Flowers" and "New Chui," alongside the studio albums "Sound From Africa" and "The Big One."
Rayvanny has collaborated with artists including Diamond Platnumz, Maluma, Harmonize, Marioo, King Promise, Joeboy, and Kizz Daniel. In 2021, he founded Next Level Music, later departing WCB Wasafi to focus on the label. He became the first Tanzanian artist to win a BET Award and received the 'International Viewers' Choice Award' in 2017, strengthening his influence across African music.
