Music was already part of David Adedeji Adeleke's world before he became known as Davido. Born in Atlanta, Georgia, and raised largely in Lagos, he developed an interest in music while studying in the United States, where he began making beats and recording songs. He returned to Nigeria to pursue music professionally, releasing “Back When” with Naeto C in 2011 before “Dami Duro” brought him wider recognition. His debut album, Omo Baba Olowo: The Genesis, followed in 2012 and established him as one of Nigeria's leading young pop artists.
Davido later founded Davido Music Worldwide, developing artists including Mayorkun and Peruzzi. His international profile expanded through songs such as “Fall” and “If,” alongside collaborations with Chris Brown, Popcaan and others. His albums include A Good Time, A Better Time, Timeless and 5ive. Timeless earned three Grammy nominations, while his career has also brought multiple Headies awards.
