The Beginning

Released in 2019, "The Beginning" marks the debut album of the talented South African duo, MFR Souls. The 9-track project showcases a dynamic blend of danceable tracks. It earned a nomination for Best Kwaito/Gqom/Amapiano Album at the 2020 SAMAs and features an impressive lineup of guest Amapiano artists.

MFR Souls is the South African Amapiano music duo Tumelo Nedondwe and Tumelo Mabe. They met in 2009, formed their band in 2013, and are widely regarded as forefathers of the Amapiano music genre. They released their hit single "Love You Tonight" in 2019, which was certified platinum in South Africa and earned them nominations at the 26th South African Music Awards. They released "Abahambayo" and their second studio album, "Healers of the Soul," in 2021. In 2022, they released an EP called "T-squared" and were featured in the Spotify documentary "Freedom Sounds: From Kwaito to Amapiano." MFR Souls' influence on the South African music scene continues to grow.
