Born as the fifth of seven children in Masaka, Uganda, Dianah Rosemary Muwereza Nalubega, professionally known as Diana Nalubega or Mis Kazigo, is the daughter of the late Jasper Matovu and Jane Matovu. Diana Namusoke was a celebrated Ugandan vocalist and a prominent member of the iconic Golden Band. Okukuseku International Band of Ghana, also known as Okukuseku's No.2 Guitar Band, was a highlife band founded in 1969 by Kofi Sammy and Water Proof. The band's members were De Frank Kakrah, Dr. Paa Bobo, Go Slow, Kofi Sammy, Kwesi Mould, and Water Proof. "Okukuseku" which means "frequent changes" in the Twi language, was a significant characteristics of the band as the band was moved to Nigeria during Ghana's economic downtimes and began incorporating pidgin and Igbo to win over their Nigerian audiences. The band produced several popular hits during the 1970s and 1980s, including "Abeiku", "Mebisa", and "Agatha". Okukuseku's music was characterized by a mix of traditional African rhythms, jazz, and Latin music, with strong vocals and lively instrumentation featuring horns, guitars, and percussion. Though inactive, the band's music remains popular and continues to be played on the airwaves and at social gatherings in Ghana and across the continent.

Apollo International Band of Ghana, also known as Amakye Dede & His Apollo Kings International, is a highlife band from Ghana formed in 1980 and led by prolific Ghanaian singer and composer Dan Amakye Dede. The other band members were Kwame Nash Wilson and Obibini Takyi. Apollo International Band of Ghana dominated the music scene throughout the 80s and 90s with hits such as "Taxi Turner", "Santana Love", and "Beautiful Woman," amongst others. While their second album, "Jealousy," which was recorded in Onitsha, an Eastern city in Nigeria, brought them their major break. The band remains relevant many years later in the Ghana music space and globally.
